Hon. Okey Joe Foundation has launched a Women and Youth Empowerment program to promote economic independence and capacity building in Oshodi-Isolo II Federal Constituency. Through data-driven projects, the initiative provides vocational training, entrepreneurship development, mentorship, and access to funding, empowering beneficiaries to uplift their communities and create lasting change.
The Honourable Okey Joe Foundation has unveiled a dynamic Women and Youth Empowerment program, aimed at addressing the pressing need for capacity building and economic independence within Oshodi-Isolo II Federal Constituency and beyond. With women and youth comprising 70% of both the foundation’s primary and secondary target constituencies, their empowerment has become a top priority in the foundation’s mission to promote social inclusion and sustainable community development.
The new empowerment program is designed to not only provide immediate support but to create lasting, transformational change in the lives of its beneficiaries. Through data-driven and innovative projects, the foundation seeks to equip women and youth with the necessary skills, resources, and opportunities to help them thrive and empower others in their communities.
Hon. Prince Okey-Joe Jesse Onuakalusi, founder of the Hon. Okey Joe Foundation, emphasized the importance of the initiative: “We recognize that women and youth are the backbone of any thriving society. By focusing our efforts on empowering them, we are not just transforming individual lives, but also entire communities. Our goal is to create a ripple effect where each empowered individual becomes a light for others.”
The program will cover various thematic areas, including entrepreneurship training, vocational skills acquisition, and financial literacy. By providing participants with access to business resources, mentorship, and practical tools, the foundation ensures that the beneficiaries are equipped to lead successful ventures and become role models in their communities.
Skills Acquisition Training: Beneficiaries will undergo specialized training in a wide range of vocational fields, including fashion design, catering, agriculture, and digital skills. The program is designed to meet market demands and ensure participants can monetize their skills effectively.
Entrepreneurship Development: The foundation will offer workshops and seminars on business development, including how to start and sustain small enterprises. Participants will learn how to create business plans, manage finances, and leverage digital platforms for growth.
Mentorship Programs: Each beneficiary will be paired with a mentor from their chosen field, receiving guidance and support to navigate the challenges of their entrepreneurial journey.
Access to Funding and Resources: The foundation will provide micro-grants to successful participants to help them establish their ventures. Additionally, beneficiaries will have access to tools and resources, such as business kits and starter packs, to ensure they can hit the ground running.
By empowering these key demographic groups, the Hon. Okey Joe Foundation envisions a future where women and youth not only improve their own economic status but also contribute to the overall development of their communities. The program is designed to create a multiplier effect, where beneficiaries will be encouraged to mentor others, further expanding the reach of the foundation’s impact.
The Hon. Okey Joe Foundation remains committed to fostering a brighter future for all by showing the light and helping people find the way. Through its continuous efforts to uplift vulnerable populations, the foundation is paving the way for a more inclusive, prosperous society where everyone can realize their full potential.
