Preamble
The Honourable Okey Joe (HOJ) Foundation is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 2022 by Hon. Prince Okey-Joe Jesse Onuakalusi, Esq., with the mission to empower the vulnerable, foster inclusivity, and drive societal advancement. Incorporated in 2023 under Nigerian law, the foundation serves as a beacon of hope for underprivileged communities. Okey-Joe, as he is fondly called, believes that every citizen has the potential to be a light, brightening society if adequately empowered. Guided by this vision, the foundation is dedicated to human capital development, poverty reduction, and promoting social inclusion.

Founder’s Vision
A principled legal practitioner with nearly two decades of experience, Hon. Okey-Joe Onuakalusi is a dedicated defender of human rights. His passion for uplifting the less privileged and advancing society led to the creation of the Hon. Okey-Joe Foundation. A man of integrity and humility, he is committed to ensuring that those most in need are supported and given the opportunity to thrive. Okey-Joe is also a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Association of Arbitration, Mediation and Conciliation (AAMC), and Advocate Africa.

Mission Statement
We are committed to delivering data-driven, evidence-based, and well-structured programs designed to inspire individuals, helping them guide others and dispel the darkness caused by illiteracy, exclusion, and underdevelopment.

Organizational Structure
The foundation operates through three key organs: the General Assembly, the Board of Trustees, and the Management Committee.

• General Assembly: Comprising all members and representatives of beneficiaries, the assembly evaluates the foundation’s performance and impact annually.
• Board of Trustees: This supreme authority ensures that the foundation’s policies align with its mission and goals.
• Management Committee: Responsible for day-to-day implementation, the committee oversees program execution and strategy.

Area of Coverage
While the foundation’s primary focus is on the Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency II, it also extends its services to vulnerable populations across Nigeria.

Thematic Areas

1. Women/Youth Empowerment: The foundation seeks to empower women and youth through innovative, data-driven initiatives designed to foster self-reliance.
2. Education: Hon. Okey-Joe Foundation is committed to enhancing basic education, providing mentorship, and sponsoring exams for indigent students, particularly girls.
3. Health: Focusing on preventive healthcare, family health, and research, the foundation addresses the health needs of its communities.
4. Inclusivity: Ensuring inclusivity for women, children, and people with disabilities in all our programs is a priority.
5. Human Rights & National Integration: With a dedicated human rights desk, the foundation promotes peace-building initiatives and national integration through interethnic collaboration and language education.
6. Demographic Mapping: The foundation collects and analyzes demographic data in Oshodi/Isolo to support effective, need-based government interventions.
