Executive Director

Mazi Ikechukwu Bismarck Oji

Mazi Ikechukwu Bismarck Oji, MNSE, COREN was born on May 25, 1974, in Isienu-Ehalumona, Nsukka LGA, Enugu State. He hails from Ụmụdara-Umulevo, Emudo-Nenwe, Aninri LGA, Enugu State. An engineer by education, a poet and writer by passion, and an activist by vocation, Mazi Oji has made significant contributions across various fields.

Education:

  • Ekulu Primary School, GRA, Enugu (FSLC) – 1980-1986
  • College of the Immaculate Conception (CIC), Uwani, Enugu (WASC) – 1986-1992
  • Enugu State University of Science & Technology (ESUT) (B.Eng. Electrical/Electronics Engineering) – 1995-2000

 Professional Experience:

  • Mathematics Teacher, Ogedengbe School of Science, Ilesa, Osun State (NYSC) – 2002-2003
  • PHCN, Okpara Avenue, Enugu – 2005-2007
  • Executive Director, Centre for the Advancement of Literacy & Leadership (CALL), Enugu – 2008-Present
  • Personal Assistant to Engr. Chris Okoye, Chairman, FEGNO Group – 2009-2012
    Responsibilities included organizing meetings and scripting speeches for Engr. Okoye in his capacity as chairman of various organizations like the South East Nigeria Economic Commission (SENEC), Music Society of Enugu (MUSE), and Ohanaeze Strategy & Planning Committee.
  • Special Assistant to Late Amb. Raph Uwechue, President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo – 2012
    Responsibilities included nationwide contact and mobilization.
  • Publisher/CEO, Hoohaa Newspapers (Igbo: www.hoohaa.com.ng, English: www.english.hoohaa.com.ng) – 2016-Present
    Hoohaa is the first Igbo online newspaper and also provides Igbo language consultancy services. Mazi Oji has worked with international agencies, including the UNICEF Menstrual Hygiene/WASH Project in the South East.

  • Sub-EditorIgbo Amaka (A monthly Igbo affairs column in Daily Tribune) – 2013-2016
  • Mazi Oji has authored numerous published articles, including Fashola’s Apology to Ndigbo: The Real Issues (2013), Ndigbo: Benighted Giant of Africa (2014), and What Ndigbo Want (2016). He writes fluently in both English and Igbo and speaks French.

Mazi Ikechukwu Bismarck Oji continues to be an influential voice in promoting Igbo language, culture, and history while contributing to the advancement of literacy and leadership within Nigeria.

Mrs Uchenna Ofomata

Mrs. Uchenna Ofomata was born in Cameroon. She hails from Nnewi, Anambra state. She is a Nigerian Leader, Event Planner, Mentor, Model, Wife and Mother. She is the CEO of Uchebiz Events an event Consulting, planning and coordinating company.

She is also the Program director of Women Affairs for Hon. Okey-Joe Foundation founded by the Member Representing Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency II, whose Vision is TO SHOW THE LIGHT AND LET THE PEOPLE FIND THE WAY.

The Women affairs department aims to train, transform and empower women and the girl child in being responsible and participating in growth and development of their immediate environment and the Nation at large.
